Our story

Southwest Hearing started as a family-owned pop-up clinic for musicians in Bristol. We, Jonathan and Vicki, work closely together as a husband-and-wife team. Our deep understanding of each other’s strengths leads to clear communication, which is essential in our clinical practice. As demand for our services grew, we expanded from Bristol to Devon, and you can now visit us at our main clinic in Totnes.

Outside of work, we enjoy making the most of what our local area has to offer with our son. Whether it’s swimming at Blackpool Sands, catching waves at Bigbury, walking through the Dartington Estate, or grabbing a relaxed brunch in one of Totnes’ independent cafés, we’re always grateful to live in such a beautiful part of the world. We’re looking forward to getting to know more people in the community and becoming part of local life.

Jonathan Doyle MSc BSc (Hons) RHAD
Audiologist & Clinical Director

I’ve spent the best part of a decade honing my craft in renowned independent clinics, from Harley Street Hearing to Clifton Audiology. I believe it’s my patient-centric and kind-hearted approach to audiological care that truly sets our service apart. I’m committed to developing tailored solutions, bespoke to each individual - and the success of this process is reflected in the many kind testimonials we’ve received (see our 5-star Google reviews!).

I’ve always been fascinated by music. Drawing on an academic background in neuroscience, I found real passion in exploring the link between sensory information and cognitive perception. Audiology, for me, is one of the rare fields where science and art collide - where sound waves become music, and the fundamentals of communication come to life. I could talk about ears and hearing all day, so please don’t hesitate to pick my brain!

Vicki Doyle
Practice Director

After 15 incredible years in luxury travel across the UK and abroad, I now oversee the day-to-day operations behind the scenes at Southwest Hearing. My career has taken me to some amazing places, giving me not only a deep understanding of exceptional customer service but also a genuine love for building relationships with people from all walks of life.

I also spend time swim teaching - a role I took on simply because I love it! It’s active, rewarding, and offers another way to engage with others in a meaningful way. For me, it perfectly compliments the work I do here, helping me stay energised and balanced.

As our business continues to grow, I’m committed to ensuring we deliver the highest standard of care to everyone who walks through our doors. Whether you're visiting us for the first time or returning, your experience matters - and we believe that’s what truly sets us apart.
